BOXING FUTURES: MAKING AN IMMEDIATE AND POSTIVE IMPACT

Our approach

At Boxing Futures we make an immediate, positive and enduring impact on the lives of those who we work with.

We help young disadvantaged people take part in positive activity which makes them fitter and healthier and improves their mental wellbeing. As a result of this they find that that they can use their newfound energy, confidence and experience to seek out opportunities in employment, education, training and volunteering.

We are proud to say that since we were established in 2015, we have delivered life enhancing non-contact boxing opportunities to more than 2000 people.

A sense of belonging

What we offer is much more than just sporting activity. We empower young people through the support of non-judgemental relationships and provide them with a sense of family, trust and excitement and the chance to be part of something special.

Our bespoke services and creative partnerships are backed by high quality research and evaluation to ensure that we are making an impact and we continue to grow and broaden our support to meet the needs of our local communities.

Ultimately our strategies have a positive impact on young lives by reducing re-offending and anti social behaviour and improving physical and mental wellbeing.

HOW YOU CAN HELP >>
Boxing Futures: Helping young people through sport

Our programmes

We mainly work with young people aged 16-25 but as we continue to grow we also offer support to older adults, as well as young children.

We have three core services:

Brothers Through Boxing

Our highly successful Brothers Through Boxing programme helps young males to increase their social connections and to feel less lonely and isolated.

The programme is peer-led and offers a non-contact Boxercise and general fitness programme alongside a range of positive support initiatives including workshops, mentoring relationships and making connections with others.

Brothers Through Boxing fosters a feeling of pride and creates a community of friends who help and support each other, leave training sessions feeling safer and are able to reach out for help when needed.

Sisters Through Boxing

Following the excellent results of our Brothers Through Boxing programme, Sisters Through Boxing was established to address some of the specific problems faced by young females.

The unique programme uses a similar approach which helps participants to forge relationships and to take positive steps to improve their lives.

Box Out Of It

Box Out Of It is our innovative Boxercise focused programme for all young people.

The broad objective is to help young people achieve their bronze Boxercise award so the focus is on fitness, but in reality the programme offers much more than that; it provides young people with the opportunity to work with their peers and to develop positive social behaviours and experiences.
